22nd June 2008 Windsurfing: Aberdyfi Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 30-45 knots gusty Surf / Sea State: choppy Air Temperature: 14 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: Boardwise demo day (Sunday). Mad conditions, arrived to find them trying to slalom race in 30+ knots and very choppy conditions. Tried a few runs on a 4.5m and wave board but I was well overpowered and with the chop it wasn't fun. Managed a few runs but decided to just watch the racing. In between the racing most people seemed to be on 3.3m's maybe I should think about getting one and a decent 4.0m as well ;-) After the afternoon racing when the tide had dropped I went back in and had a decent time, although still well overpowered it was ok given the flatter water. Could have been a lot better with a little less wind, and less gusty. |
